After four weeks of intense work, the summer program at the Stanford University Center for Turbulence Research is now finished. It was an excellent opportunity to meet many other researchers working on problems related to turbulence. Pawel and our collaborator Asst. Prof. Matteo Dellacasagrande traveled there to work with the Stanford team (Prof. Bose, Dr Agrawal and Dr Wang). Our project was dedicated to
Multi-scale interactions within a multi-stage compressor
During the program we worked simultaneously on generating large quantities of high-fidelity data and processing with our in-house developed flow-decomposition framework to peek into elusive turbulence dynamics and estimate so-called triadic interactions within a complex unsteady compressor flow.
